Do you think APS will be closed or delayed Thursday 2/13?

Starting to sprinkle now where we live and all of the snow we didn’t shovel off our driveway is already melting. I think we’re A-OK for tomorrow as it will not refreeze.

I just drove by discovery and the sidewalks are totally clear but no plow has touched the car drop loop – what the heck? The cul-de-sac directly across the street is totally clear and has been plowed. Makes no sense.

Even the side streets in my Ashlawn neighborhood are plowed. I am hopeful there is no black ice and Thursday is a normal day.

My kids are going stir crazy. My spouse and I both had important meetings or I would have gambled on the snow day and left at lunch Tuesday to take them skiing on Wednesday.

Same with Nottingham. I assume APS contracts this and a plow will come through for the parking lots.

Temps are staying above freezing and it will rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be 50. I think they go for sure. Now the delay or not is the question. I'd be fine with a delay.

Wakefield was cleared by 11am this morning.

Where would you like them to put the snow?

Definitely not closed. Maybe delayed opening, esp if fairfax is delayed, but seems possible for on time.

On the grass. I can speak to this since I was actually at the parking lot today. They left 2-4 spots with piles of snow about 2 feet high. They could obviously put the snow elsewhere b/c that's what they did when they cleared other nearby areas. If they put the whole parking lot in those spots, the piles would have been much larger. The seniors have assigned spots that they pay for. So, to leave a few spots unusually is not doing the job properly. I come from the snowy north and understand the snow has to go somewhere. We used to have mounds in mall parking lots for weeks on end. The amount of snow we received did not warrant blocking spots.

I saw the plow pulling into NES around 3pm.

Fairfax is ontime- we will be too.

Just took the dog for a walk. When we left there was a 2 ft wide shoveled clear path down our driveway and by the time we got back 30 mins later it was double that from the rain. Temps are going up tonight, so my bet is on open, no delay. Lots of melting overnight with no refreeze.
