No heartbeat at 6w1d

My clinic wouldn't schedule scans until 6+5 at the earliest. For this reason - not seeing a heartbeat early in week six could mean nothing at all but it will stress you out even so.

I hope you see a heartbeat in 2 weeks!

No OB will do this. There’s nothing the dr can do short of progesterone. Is this your first op?

PP you replied. You're funny. I've had multiple miscarriages, because I'm high risk, and every time I've been pregnant, my OB has ordered a series of HCGs.
It's an important monitoring tool, it's not a treatment or cure.
You want to see my blood tests or something?

Your OB did 6 HCG's? Why weren't you seeing an RE if you were high risk?

OP, take care of yourself and eat well, and I wish the best for you in the coming weeks.

Same thing happened to me. I went in at 6 weeks something based on my last period. I know I was a couple of days further because I tracked ovulation. Anyway, no heart beat and was told to come back in a week. A week later there was a heart beat.

This is why my OB does not do an ultrasound until 8 weeks. Just HCG until then.

Because I am not doing IVF. I have a maternal fetal specialist but mainly see my OB. HCG series are standard of care, actually, for many different concerns in early pregnancy, and most patients get them prescribed through their OB-GYNs, because most patients never see RE or even MF doctors.

You really need to get out more.

OP here.

Update- went for the ultrasound and saw baby and heartbeat! OB measured me at 7 weeks now so I was just 5 weeks during my first ultrasound so not seeing the heartbeat makes a lot more sense now!

I feel so much relief now. Thank you all so much again for your responses.
