Oh I'm aware. That's my point... especially in the case of true crime where I can just easily google the name of the parties involved and get a quick synopsis article including sentencing, why on earth would I want to be strung along for 12 hours? It just makes no sense whatsoever, especially when there's plenty of podcasts that do a good job of suspenseful storytelling while still wrapping it up within an hour. |
This. Data indicates people either like super short content or super long. Apparently surveys have indicated an hour isn’t long enough. Specific to Rogan: he’s in a category alone. He was the first to generate a loyal audience enabling him to commercialize his chit chat and commentary. The longer the show, the more ads/revenue. |

Yes, this is what I think. I like an hour-long episode. Beyond that, I think most people need an editor. |
Why are books so long? |
Reminds me of Howard Stern though. I don't even know if he's on anymore but his mainstream radio show went on for hours. I used to tune in for a few minutes but could not imagine listening for hours every day. Leisurely, endless talk. |
I can confirm. I listen to them over the course of days- driving and walking my dog mostly. On two occasions, I have listened to a 3-4 hour podcast. It took a couple weeks to get through. |
