Do you mind including stats? Since they don’t write an essay or anything we are confused what UVM use to select honors college. My kid indicated on application that they wanted to be considered. Decision letter shows they were awarded Presidential Scholarship but no mention of honors college. Kind of bummed. |
Yes - but even if not, the website says there is a chance that will be notified of later acceptance into Honors College. |
Interesting. DC is looking at the website and it said Honors College info comes out in March. |
I think her weighted is about 4.4? And 1510 SAT. She did write the optional Why UVM essay, too. |
I think that’s for RD. It comes with EA letters for EA applicants but plenty of EA applicants get in in the late spring when others decline. |
March would make sense. Would eliminate all the ED kids who withdrew their applications so when they make honors college selection it is from a reduced pool but still in time for kids to weigh their options before May 1st. |
| She’s in!! Yay! |

From the website:
There is no separate application to apply to the Patrick Leahy Honors College (PLHC) as an incoming first-year student. Students receive their PLHC invitation decision at the same time as their UVM admissions decision; invitation statuses can be confirmed in the application portal. Early applicants who do not receive an invitation when first admitted to UVM may receive one as late as March. So there’s still a chance |
| DS is in the Honor’s College with the Presidential Scholarship. MCPS |
| DD in with 25k. Loved the school! |
| DD in for honors college! Very excited to have an admit. |
| does everyone who gets in get the 25k? |
Mine got in with presidential scholarship but I think it works out to 17,000 a year. We are pleased! We thought he had a solid chance of getting admitted but didn’t feel as confident about getting merit and as I think it’s the most expensive state flagship in New England this definitely helps sweeten the deal |
|
Mine is in with honors and 25k/yr.
Stats are: 1570, no APs offered by school, highest rigor at school 4.0UW, ECs science research and dance, mainly. |

Congrats to all! You'll love Burlington.
