I have never met anyone with a pit bull that wasn’t a rescue. I guess there are pit bull breeders out there and I guess there are some people out there who willingly get one from a breeder, but in my UMC liberal circles, all the pits are rescues. I’d be super duper surprised if there is a pit in bethesda that’s not a rescue. |
And the level of shock is.... zero. Can't we euthanize this entire breed yet? |
This is horrific. I hope the owners are charged and the woman who was hurt and had her dog killed sues them for a ton of money. |
None of the articles say what happened to the other dog—there were two dogs that charged the woman but one ran off. Possible it ran off because it was not a ferocious beast and didn’t want to be part of the mauling— but the other alternative is that there is another vicious dog on the loose. |
“Eating the other dog in the yard of a residence” Jesus Christ. |
I just did a search for the word pitbull and there it was |
The algorithm is trying to show you what it thinks you want to see. And since you subscribe to snap judgments, clickbait and tropes, finding you what you want is easy. |
We already kill a lot of 'pit bulls' in the shelters. Do you believe all five breeds are guilty until proven innocent? |
This is a very nice neighborhood in Bethesda. The victims are likely to do well if they sue the irresponsible owner. |
Stupid people make assumptions. Smarter people wait for facts. They're not going to say what breed because the responding officers writing the report probably aren't specifically trained in identifying dog breeds. Unlike the idiots in the DCUM pets forum, who know everything and all about it, too. |
Ahh the evil anti-pitbull computer algorithms strike again! |
This is how clickbait works, and so many of y'all are falling for it. The article specifically says: "According to the police statement, the incident began when two dogs charged at the victim dog that was with its owner. One of the attacking dogs left the scene, but the other continued to attack the dog, police said. The statement did not identify the breeds of the attacking dogs nor the victim dog." But "Pitbull fatally shot Wednesday after attacking two women, killing other dog in Bethesda" gets clicks, so... |
I love and respect you for trying, but you're wasting your time. The haters don't want to know/do better. They just want to hate. |
I have questions, though. How did the other dog end up in the yard of a residence? Was it also off-leash? Dropped the leash when the owner(s) got injured trying to break up the fight? Not that it would excuse the roaming dog(s) from attacking, but there seem to be some facts missing. |
Maybe all the pitbulls are rescues but all rescues are not pitbulls. Sadly, I do think we should eliminate the breed. But continue to rescue and nurture other breeds and rescues. |
