How early (what age) did you take your baby on the subway?

I know a family that took their baby home from the NICU on the metro

6 weeks old. Had to take him with me to my postpartum checkup in downtown DC, and I hate driving in the city, so we metro'd. No problem!

OP here.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I think I allowed the parenting books to drive me crazy. I read about enclosed spaces and airborne illnesses she's not yet inoculated against. I guess I just wanted to hear that no one else's child burst into flames or anything shortly after riding the subway this young.

We got an all-day pass yesterday and hit the town. We ended up on everyline yesterday and no matter the hour, each train was packed. Nontheless, she enjoyed it and my dirty looks kept people at bay...including the guy asking for money and the guy trying to sell me DVDs.

Thanks everyone!
