MCAP report scores spring 2024

Anonymous
So, now?:
First, State sends to MCPS Central Office
Second, Central Office sends to MCP schools
Then, MCPS schools send them to families? Is this via snail mail or another method, such as ParentVue?

What is expected time frame for families to receive their student's report?

Anyone know why state doesn't directly mail them to families. Cut out middle layer? Maybe it had been discussed here.

No clue. Have not received our students' reports.

MSDE is really structured to funnel almost everything through the LEAs. It's not a bug, it's a feature of the model.

Have any 6th grade families received spring of 5th grade scores yet?

you should receive them by Spring 2025 before they take mcap-6th grade.

For students who took tests for which the score counted for a certain % of Sem2 grade, did you get their MCAP score for that subject when you received Q4 report card?

Because the state refuses to mail the scores for their test themsleves it can take up to a year to get them back.

Ok Cram and company. Then don't make our students take the test every year! That should be YOUR job, MCPS, to advocate for students not to take the test every damn year. Do your job, MCPS!

You'll need to get your state legislators to vote on that then. I think it's required by law.

You're truly a troll and a dumb one at that too.
MCPS doesn’t make your kids take the test, it's the State that requires your kids to take the test.

Mcps? Ha! Wishful 🤔

Did you read that thread from last year about mcap? Same BS this year. Except that supposedly schools have to send reports home with students this year.

So that's where MCPS decided to cut $ - on postage? because $ was lost on a failed bus tracking app and resources looking into that? Or is it because they had to payout a former Superintendent? Or a former employee who allegedly was involved misconduct?

Unacceptable.

$ can be found if they cut CO jobs! They're not all providing service to their customers anyways.

If you can't get the scores to parents, don't make students take the test. Fool.

State does their part sending it to school districts. School districts havent figured out how to get reports to families quickly. Tho friends in other MD districts don't seem to have issues.

Why not upload to Parent Vue?

Is it because they don't know how to?

Parents got reports from state mandated tests in the summer back in our dinosaur era. Surely McPS can figure out a more efficient way?

You should address that to the state.
