+2 on Good Culture.
I add it to many recipes. For summer dinners I slice zucchini long ways and make a cottage cheese/mozzarella mixture, with fresh basil, oregano, and seasoning, then roll up and top with onions, mushrooms and crushed tomatoes. Bake it up for 30 minutes and it's perfect. A healthier version of lasagna rolls. |
I top it with tomato, cucumber and everything bagel seasoning.
Or I top it with crushed cheez its from the bottom of the box. Breakstone’s only for me. |
I made that cottage cheese egg wrap for the first time this morning. It was good!
I want to make it for pizza next. I love cottage cheese mixed with any fruit |
I just like it plain. Eat it for breakfast every morning. |
No I think I've just tried the store brand or whichever is cheapest that my mom would buy. |
Definitely try Good Culture. There’s a weird tanginess to other brands I don’t like and GC is more “dry” - the curds hold together better. |
Daisy is perfectly fine. Look at the ingredients and it doesn't have all of the fillers/stabilizers that the other grocery store brands do. Same for sour cream.
I usually just eat it with a few food shakes of black pepper. My daughter's friend was complaining that her mom made ice cream out of cottage cheese and it did not go over well with her, but I'm somewhat intrigued by the idea as recipes for this keep popping up. |
On toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon |
I lived Numa cottage cheese but no longer see it |
I like good culture. Friendship whipped is also very good. I can only find it at Giant. |
An earlier cottage cheese thread here said best is plain cottage cheese with a particular brand of hot sauce- cannot remember which one but I did try it and they were right, it was REALLY good. |
Frank’s Red Hot |
I made peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream out of it and it’s ridiculous how delicious it is. It’s not at all cheesy tasting. I blended the cottage cheese with a few tablespoons of peanut butter and a few tablespoons of maple syrup. Stirred in some chocolate chips and stuck it in the freezer. It’s hard to eat once frozen…it’s pretty solid so you have to let it sit out to soften up. Give it a go - it’s really good! |
Isn’t ricotta cheese the same note or less as cottage cheese? |
okay stupid question but I was just at the store and there was a whole cold case display of cottage cheese.
What is going on? Was it on tick tock or something? Did an influencer eat it on a video? So dumb. |
