| Miami Ohio, UDel, Loyola MD, York College, Lafayette, CNU are probably all safeties with this GPA. York requires a math score of something over 600 to be direct enrolled in the engineering school. |
I disagree with this poster. I think she should apply to CMU, though of course there are no guarantees. |
DP. Note that OP's 3.92 is weighted. OP, what is her unweighted GPA? |
| Hello, reading comprehension! The gpa is 3.92 weighted. So that would be 3.5 uw? With a 1200 SAT. She needs to go TO but there is no way this kid is going to Carnegie Mellon or Lehigh. RPI Pitt and Lafayette would be reaches. I’d say WPI Temple Roger Williams UDel Fairfield Pace URI are the targets here. |
Yeah, I missed the “weighted” - I’m the one that recommended Lehigh and Case. My daughter got merit there for engineering/CS so I wanted to suggest it - but missed the GPA. |

OP, if you want accurate suggestions, please provide unweighted GPA as well as math grades and AP calc and AP Physics scores, if available.
1200 SAT, with presumably 600 math, and 3.92 weighted, points to generally less selective EE programs. Do not underestimate the difficulty of this major, one of the most difficult majors. If she enrolls at a school that is more challenging, she may end up transferring out of the major. Since prestige for EE isn't a critical factor in employment, it makes sense to aim lower. |

| Did she get 5s on her math and science APs? |
| EE is no joke. It was hard for my perfect SAT, never a B in her life (in the early 90s) bff. She can do it with a lot of hard work and support probably, but for the love of god don’t push her to a reach! |
| Agree EE is super tough, best man in our wedding is an EE and he’s a genius. Maybe the 1200 SAT is a 700 math? |
