Yes, how else are they going to learn to ski? |
Yes. My kids enjoy meeting other kids and doing something exciting, like in the summer they've loved mountain biking and sailing camps. |
Not from you obviously |
Are you talking about the Kids Club type places at resorts? One of mine loved this and begged to go every day because she wanted to be around other kids and liked the activities. We never forced her. That same kid is now a teen and trying to find a sports camp at one of the colleges near her grandparents when we visit. She’s not having any luck. She likes visiting them but needs a lot of activity and was hoping to have intense exercise a few hours a day. These are also social with other teens. So she hasn’t changed that much.
We would never force this and my other kids didn’t do the kids clubs when they were little and are happy doing whatever at the grandparents when they visit. |
So am I but that doesn’t mean I need to be around my kids 24/7. They can function without me. I doubt yours can say the same. |
We have - we went to a family beach house for a month when the kids were early ES. We did some half day camps to keep them busy and give us time to work - that way our time together wasn’t scrambling to watch them and have conference calls at the same time. |
Yes, re kids camp at resort. During the summer DC visit grandparents we put them at camp one week. |
Do you not know anyone who puts their kids in ski school during ski vacations? Or signs their kid up for a few days of surf camp on beach vacations? |
Nah they probably stay away from those people because they are stuck up like you appear to be. |
Our kids varied in their enthusiasm for resorts' kids clubs, and we never forced them to go if they didn't want to, but one or more of them usually wanted to. |
We spent 10 days in Europe and our kid went to an English language art camp for 5 days. We got to see things that wouldn’t have interested my kid while my kid did something fun. Had lots of family time too where we focused on more kid friendly things. |
I would do this for a long trip. DH used to spend the whole summer somewhere and did camps there. |
We own a vacation home. The kids do camp up there, I telework, and my husband comes out for long weekends. |
I guess? We have a place in ME and our kids go to camp nearby while I telework from the house, then we all spend a week together there when their camp is over. Would they go to the camp if we didn’t have a place nearby? Not likely because I’m not sure I’d have sought out its existence. I’m also not sure this is what you are getting at, they would be in camp of some sort even if we stayed home for the summer because I have to work. So to me, I get to work from a much more pleasant location while they do camp anyway, and my spouse comes up for the together week if he’s not traveling for work. Otherwise it’s me and the kids for the week. |
Maybe the horny OP from the other forum could try this. |
