Agree it is too long but it felt even longer because of commuting to and from. Could have been Sooo much easier if the ceremony was held at the high school.

Some of us are coming from western areas of MoCo. No UMBC was not where we wanted grafuation. Clearly you have not been to UMBC on graduation day. Fool.

Some of us who are coming from western areas of MoCo have actually driven to UMBC and know that it takes less than an hour. Maybe the bathroom fixing hair part accounts for the extra 1-2 hours?

UMBC is not more inconvenient than DAR or UMD. Mount Saint Mary's might be less inconvenient, but I don't know, because my kid graduated from Clarksburg HS in 2021, so graduation was in the stadium. Is the stadium the most convenient? I thought so, but I understand that there are other considerations beyond my personal preferences.

For 9 AM graduation at UMBC should I leave before 6:30 in the morning? I’m accounting for rush-hour traffic. Waze this morning said one hour and four minutes Drive time, but that does not include getting on campus and finding parking space.

It’s my nieces graduation and my sister told me that guests need to start arriving at 8 AM for the 9 AM graduation.

The campus is basically at the end of the off-ramp, and there are over 1,000 parking spaces in the four dedicated lots next to the arena.

Or leave earlier. Not kidding. Depends also on day of week, some days see more traffic than others. And give yourself time to walk from parking spot to inside especially if you are in heels. If your niece's school is large, - many are in thousands ~2000 (times 6 tickets per thousand graduates), you could be long line to get in. People think it is a joke to leave so early and allocate that much time for a graduation but you'd rather be early than late. The exit gets backed up,. But parking easy at UMBC.

MCPS families thinking they are the only ones that use I-95. Folks - it is an interstate highway you know one that goes from FL to ME used by trucks, tourists and MANY people. Get out more often and see our country's highways! Or take a back road if you can.

Blair is the largest HS and even it does not have 1000 graduates.
