I personally know of several teachers who have their admin cert and have applied to the admin pool. There are plenty of people who may not have experience, but they are ready to do the job. FYI, based in what I’ve read about him, he’s not qualified to do the job. |
Looks like OSSWB did not do their homework on this hire! Really no excuse. |
It's amazing that MCPS is less competent than DCPS. |
There are so few people who want to be principal that they're just desperate to hire warm bodies even if these people are highly problematic. My current vice principal an example of that |
Better to have an acting principal than this guy. We know people at Oyster, the DCPS he was fired from, and he was just awful. I have no idea what OSSWB was going even considering him for an appointment, let alone appointing him. |
The incompetence in OSSWB is truly astounding. Given the Beidleman fiasco, you would think potential appointments would be highly vetted. Makes you wonder who is in charge. |
Isn't it HR's responsibility to vet candidates? |
HR handles the process but any judgement calls about the candidate's previous performance and their suitability for the position will be left to the hiring managers, which in this case will be the director of OSSWB that will supervise this principal. |
Maybe he performed really well in the interview and had glowing references. You never know. |
All it would take is a Google search to find out about what happened at Oyster. |
Maybe MCPS should post all its potential hires on DCUM so we can weigh in. |
He should never have gotten to the interview stage. |
I know the guy. I was a teacher at Wilson HS (now Jackson Reed) when he was an assistant principal. He was terrible as an assistant principal. He is good at cozying up to his bosses so they tend to like him. He gets everything done but in a shoddy low quality way. He doesn’t care about students or teacher quality. He is a cold fish. For the life of me, I cannot see him at an elementary school.
MCPS unfortunately made a big mistake hiring him. He needs to leave education |
Is it too late to rescind the offer? I feel for the teachers at the school. |
He likely had friends in MCPS who assured him they could get him through the hiring process despite his checkered past. And they were right. The hiring and promotion process in MCPS is corrupt and broken. But the OIG already laid that bare. |
