Wedding planner input please

Planners that charge that much aren’t doing one a week. They might do 10 a year.

And they might have a staff of 5-10 people working in each wedding too- they don’t take that all home for themselves.

Agree you need a day of coordinator, not a planner. I imagine the planners who charge prices like that have access to specialized vendors who only do weddings that are planned by certain planners, etc.

Michael Deltette was basically our planner and went above and beyond for our wedding at the Park Hyatt. I know he's moved on but is still in the area. Maybe Watergate or Salamander, just google him. He's amazing or find a venue with a Sales Director who can fill that role.

This x 100.

We used a day of coordinator and she was worth her weight in gold. She and her assistants managed the guests, wedding party and worked with the venue/vendors.

Yes, you need a wedding coordinator!

Thank you to everyone for your input. So many of you answered my problem, we need a coordinator (day of) and we found one! I am so happy, it has greatly alleviated our stress (my stress)

Because we have almost all decisions made, we just need someone to be "in charge" and coordinate the day of. Thanks everybody.

Just as an aside, I still think $62k is INSANE for a wedding planner.

Most are not worth even $5000

Even $5000 is hire than I’d want to pay.
