Regarding- of the return on our investment- I think we all hope at some point for some shred of return; whether it be life skills, development as a human, ability to be coached, taking direction, being a team player or playing DI soccer… we as parents expect some sort of return...I may be wrong? |
Not only are you not wrong but it sounds like you’re finally getting the ROI right now. For life in general, Facing major rejection on something DS once wanted, faced with making a decision to accept it and find new goals or a decision to get serious and do what it takes to get the original goal is a lesson that’s both much more valuable and much less costly at 16 than it is at 26. Id just be open to what he decides himself and support that decision while reinforcing the life lesson. |

What is the point? Soccer is a game. If you don't play in games, what fun is it for the kids?
