Goggles. Lots of goggles! Be prepared for lost goggles
A routine and place in the home to hang wet suits and towels. Good snack/meal container for swim meets. Cheap shoes (flip flops) for meets- labeled with swimmers name. Label everything with your name!! |
We have this one too. I got an adult small when my kid was little so they could grow into it. Its lasted 5 years or so. |
Fuzzy character onesie shaped like animals or Pixar characters are also a favorite cover up at our pool! |
Sunscreen
Backup goggles and caps Extra towels--at least 2 per meet Trash bags--for when it rains Sweatshirt and pants for cool mornings. Swim parkas are too expensive. Card games and such to pass time at meets A good attitude and a lot of patience |
The goggles - get extra once they know what they like.
Towels - early in the season, think one towel per event plus for warmup. Like 4 of them. They get wet and then cold and then you need a new one! The backpack isn’t required but it is helpful to hold the towels. If diving as well - even more towels. |
Thanks for all the advice! |
Swim parka is overkill. |
