It sucked.

While you can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles, you cannot catch shingles from someone with shingles.

THIS.

Untrue.

DP. Right. The highlighted area from your link:

Newborn babies, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone who is not immune to chickenpox should avoid close contact with anyone who has shingles until the rash is gone.

What exactly do you think "close contact" means?

It means you don't work in their environment. This isn't old news...shingles patients need to lay low. Not new everybody.

Nope. It is new, because it is wrong. Shingles (not systemic chickenpox form of illness) spreads by direct contact, and if you can cover it, you can return to work if you feel up to it.

If you need something more specific:

If the rash is in an area that you can cover (eg, with a gauze bandage or clothing), you may return to work once you feel well.

If the blisters are located in an area you can cover with bandages or clothing you may get back to work as soon as you feel well enough to do so.

If you can work remotely, do that. But rest!
