At some point, it will rain and soak their car. Or some teen will toss the remains of a milkshake in the open window (my dad's story). Or steal spare change or their car. You have tried, but this is not your issue.

Thanks everyone! I feel absolved of any guilt. The thing is they are always super grateful when I point it out to them because it’s always a case of they absentmindedly left if open, and that’s why I felt bad.
