For the non-academy/pre-academy teams, does Arlington wait until after both tryouts to make offers to existing players? Trying to understand if we should expect offers ON May 22 or if they may come earlier.

Bumping to see if anyone knows anything about 2014g tryout last night. How many kids showed up? Did they indicate how many spots they were looking to fill?

Since that age group is going from 7v7 to 9v9, each team seems to add a few players. Some is just moving kids up but still creates a spot on a lower team. In my experience this means 12-15 new kids.

Both

It looks like they’re getting a new coach next year

Is Arlington actually going to take anyone from the older age groups? They are getting rid of their 08 and I think 09 black teams which we found out at tryouts from another parent. What was the point of going?

Will they realistically only be considering extending offers to the kids who get invited to a team practice?

Is this at all levels? Is it typically that you can an invite to a training session prior to an offer? If you don't get an invite to a training session is it realistic to believe you don't have a spot?

There were ~15 players who joined the 2012G (rising U13) practice last week and scrimmaged with the existing non-pre-Academy teams. Not sure if any invites have been sent in the meantime but expect there will be another practice with invited players this week. Based on talking with other parents, it is possible to get an offer without an invitation to practice with the teams but probably only if you are well known to the coaches/club in advance or attended a practice prior to tryouts.

Anyone know how many spots of any are available for 2015 boys? New coach seemed to have some of his players trying out from SYC

Don’t know if anyone can answer that but if the coach is going to bring over his own players, the top third or half of the existing team are probably safe. If your kid is on the bubble, maybe talk to coaches at other clubs.
