To triple emphasize the whole "all kids are different," just about the only thing from that list my 12 year old girl would like is the Nike hoodie or some (but not all) Lulu dupes. On the other hand she'd flip for art supplies or her favorite books. OP I'd get an amazon gift certificate and call it a day. You can get stuff from the list above from PP, stuff my 12 year old girl would like, or stuff yet a totally different kid would like all there. Or just cash, even more flexible. |
Sephora gift cards |
+100000000000000000000000000000000000 Or an Amazon/Target gift card. |
If there's an ice cream place within walking distance, a gift card for that.
My kids think being able to go with friends is the best thing ever. |
Oh this is a really good idea! This cuts across basically all interest lines and is a tangible thing. |
Starbucks gift card, cash. |
PP coming back to say that only get them a gift if you aren’t already paying them. I’m assuming they are being paid to play with your kid. |
Unless they get service hours. We had a babysitter who did it for mandatory service hours, and we got her a gift as a token because we couldn't pay her and still have her service hours count. |
Crap from Bath & Body Works, and a Starbucks giftcard. |
gift card -- Starbucks, Dunkin, Target, ice cream or boba place
clothing or accessories that go along with what you see them wear -- Nike hoodie, string or beaded bracelet, small earrings, belt bag, cute cosmetics pouch (even girls who aren't into makeup use them to pack for sleepovers, as a pencil case, to hold period products in their backpack or locker) |
Why not get them each regulation-sized footballs ?
Girls can play football too, you know. |
OP here. We do pay them (very little though) and they are wonderful. Also, they are only a few years older than my eldest and they are so nice and my son loves them. They come together (they are friends) and spend two hours playing with him. It’s the highlight of his week! |
How does babysitting count as SSL hours? |
Most of the suggestions so far are completely heteronormative and that is really cringy. |
Most of them are also “12-going-on-18” centered. Really cringy. |
