I don't like houses on a corner/intersection like that. And the schools bring the value down as well. Agree with the above poster that you're overpaying.

Wait - is there something wrong with the schools? They're the main appeal, in my mind.

I'm sure the schools are fine. I just meant that houses tend to be cheaper if they're zoned to Garrett Park compared to say houses zoned for elem schools that feed into Whitman, Wootton or Churchill.

LOL! WJ is a problem? DCUM can be so funny!

Is this the house with the lions on the wall?

I didn't really mean that the schools were "bad", I just mean that housing prices are lower for certain schools (including Garrett Park) compared to others. Like, you're going to get a way nicer house if it's zoned for Ashburton for the same price compared to other Bethesda schools (e.g. Bradley Hills).

I like that it doesn’t back to another property. Hopefully there’s no plan to expand tuckrman. I like the corner don’t like being sandwiched in and on the end you have less neighbors if you are less neighborly. But appraisers hate corner houses on busy streets. The inside needs a new floor and looks like a man from a place with no taste picked out everything furniture wise in there. Whew. But cute house.

It’s fine from the outside. The inside is awful. The staircase for starters, just ugly. All the white tile and huge wall mirror on the main level are hideous.
Anonymous
Yikes, what is with the bundle of electrical cords busting out through the wall in the middle of the house and running down the outside?
Anonymous
So much wrong here. Zero curb appeal-the front is truly hideous. Awful tile flooring. Bizarre layout. Bad location too close to major roads. Sunken living room. Bizarre stairs that no one with kids would buy.

Just no. Tear it down and start again.

It's a great location, but not a traditional home "style" therefore will sell for less than if it were an arts and craft mcmansion. WJ is good, and Woodward, if sent there, will be brand new and will also be a good school

Also a terrific neighborhood (have spent many nights there at a friend's home who frequently hosts dinner parties)

I visited this house the last time it was listed. Tiles were loose and I almost fell.

Tough call with the location. I’m guessing it will be Woodward instead of WJ. Not sure how that will impact selling price.

I think this house is very interesting. Not a huge fan of the outdoor yard space but the interior in unique and would be fun to own.

Einstein is a 7/10 on Great Schools and WJ is a 9/10. Woodward will be a 8/10 at worst.

What will be the likely northern boundary of Woodward? Montrose rd? Wootton?

Woodward will certainly have a much higher FARMs rate and house prices will reflect that.

Ignore Great Schools completely. They revised their “grades” so much they are now meaningless.

You keep posting this, and I tried to read through the thread to see what GreatSchools changed, and I'm not clear how or when they changed their algorithm.
