Only wine drinker in my house - how to store?

This is why I don't drink more wine. I really can only have 2 glasses (or I pay for it the next day!) but I hate wasting half the bottle.

I've experimented with a variety of approaches, with disappointing results. I've just accepted that you need to finish the bottle.

Red wine is fine for a week with a stopper in.

I agree with this for good reds. If we don’t finish a bottle I plan to make bolognese or stew or another red wine based recipe within the next two days.

I just saw a reel on instagram from a sommelier who recommended canning jars because there's less oxygen getting into the wine than corking. My MIL just does box wine, though.

I just throw it in the fridge and don’t worry about drinking it quickly. While it does change in taste over time, I don’t find that it becomes unpleasant. In fact, there are many times where I like a red better when it is cold from the fridge and has been opened a few days. Sometimes the flavor changes for the better. And if not, then it becomes cooking wine.

One glass a day for the week.

I have found that as long as I keep it in the fridge corked, I have no problem with it for a week. It does taste best within 2-3 days, but I've had week old wine plenty of times and it has been just fine.
