It’s you, OP. The problem is you. |

"Could you be married to a perfect man?" |
There’s LITERALLY several replies saying of course they would be happy with this and indeed, this is ideal. But you turn around and extrapolate that every single woman is never happy. There’s a reason why you’re single and that reason is you. |
I don't know, he does sound perfect to me! |
As a man, I'm not sure what you mean by a "deep verbal emotional connection." What are you looking for him to do or say? |
Are there specific wants and needs that you’ve tried to talk to him about other than wanting him to be more verbally expressive? Or are these more abstract conversations you desire? I’m not entirely sure what it is you’re wanting and I wonder if your DH is also unsure. |
A reason why you’re single? When people say this they act like it should be everyone’s goal all the time to be partnered up with someone and join the 50 percent divorce or Newsflash- be happy being single. |
My DH says I Love You all the time, but isn't deep emotionally. He is solid and loving and shows in a million ways that he loves me. But we don't have deep emotional conversations.
When I had a stillbirth and years later had to deal with sick parents who died, he was my rock and took care of all the life stuff I couldn't. But I didn't go to him when I needed a big cry. I luckily have a 35+ year friend who is the one I go to when I need to cry or delve into some deep emotional muck. As long as he isn't cold or dismissive, I think you need to realize one person can't fulfill you every need. |
Sounds like a keeper to me |
Ikr? I envision one of these woo-woo guys with a man-bun who go to spirituality festivals in Costa Rica and speaks all sort of love-bombing gibberish. Those clowns are over-sharers, perpetually unemployed, and smelly. |
I'm a woman and this is my reaction too. What are people saying to each other?? |
I am just stunned at the heteronormative responses here. |
You didn't know only gay guys can talk about feelings?? I have a spouse who can communicate well and talk about feelings. He's straight and everything, does not have a man bun, and is not "woo woo". He even likes football and drinks beer. |
Impossible. Feelings are gay. jk. Yes, I'm trolling because the Original Post is so stupid. |
Not unrelated. My middle school son would say things such as this to his male friends "Are you ok?" when they seemed down. He got told this made him seem gay. Training them early folks!! We should all be proud. |
