Do you have a full time job? |
Op - yes I have a full time job. But when I have calls that I just have to listen to I can walk the dog if necessary. |
DP, you realize it takes less than an hour to walk 3-4 miles per day, right? |
I make sure to hit 10000 every day but want to up it yo 15. |
This. A run will be anywhere from 6-13k steps. if I'm at 13k when I'm done with my run, I sit for a lot of the day and end up between 15-18k steps. On non-run days, my goal is 6k but I hope to end up around 8. I try to average 9k a day. |
Usually @ 8,000. Has worked well for me, have seen a lot of health markers improve. |
I'm sorry that happened! Make some soup out of your own home-made bone broth and heal soon! I hate it when I can't Exercise |
How? Super speed-walking? |
There was a study last year that showed that more than 8k has diminishing returns. I usually get around 9k which is up from 6k average for 2023 (but I was sick for a lot of the year) |
Op - I usually walk at a 15-16 minute mile. |
Lol. That's like how fast I run. I have short legs. |
Can you walk faster than a 20 minute mile? Have you ever timed yourself? My guess is no based on your response. A lot of these goals are much easier than people make it out to be. I will be accused of being an a** but think of all the steps you could take if substituted walking for DCUM. Very simple walking -around your office floor, around your street and in the next two streets. |
I time myself every day with my apple watch when I walk my dog. We walk about 2 miles and it takes about an hour. |
Op - I walk like a northerner! My husband complains when he walks with me. I speed walk. I run about 9 minute miles. |
The average person walks 3 mph, so if you're walking just slightly faster than a stroll, this can easily be completed. |
