What virus is this?

100% wrong.

Sounds like what I have, but no fever.

Its just a run of the mill upper respiratory virus. There are literally millions of them at this point.

Nothing to worry about. Cough is a post-viral syndrome and super normal. Just takes time to get over.

OP here. Thanks for the responses. I know that the name of the virus doesn't actually matter. But I think it's natural to be curious about what is circulating out there, especially when it's not just a run-of-the-mill cold. This seems different from the respiratory viruses that we are used to seeing in our house (longer course, more severe), so I wondered if others have been experiencing this too, and if so, whether they had any insights. I have it too now, and it's truly horrible.

Daughter had this too. Was a douzy. Super high fever for 7-8 days. Er visits they thought strep but nope. Negative for covid rsv and fly. Doctors thought maybe mono, but nope. I got it and got a double ear infection and pneumonia. It was no joke.

Adenovirus. It’s popular in the spring. Also, allergies don’t cause fevers.

My teen has had similar symptoms since the end of last week - it’s a virus, according to urgent care. We thought it was allergies at first until the nausea started.

This just worked its way through our house. I was so fatigued I thought something was wrong with my thyroid meds. Dd had it first, then me, then DH and Ds. Most symptoms are mild, but the fatigue is a sneaky one.

Yes, it’s misreable. I get it after every cold and need an antibiotic and steroid to stop it. I’ve had a rib fracture too.
