Generational poll

Op here. I’ve looked for same birth years as my kids.. and it’s interesting to see the range in parents that are my peers (such as in school functions).

I see this in person too, but I can’t always tell. I’m 39, and it’s a tiny bit easy for me to guess if someone is +/- 5 years different in age. But I can’t tell for many people.

Also it’s harder to scan for generations, but I do see it’s interesting what gen x is raising. A huge huge variety of generations.

For example for people born in the 70s, I’m seeing here a 99 and an 18.

A 25 year old and a 5 year old.

Like I said, we see this out in public. There’s no judgment behind it. But it cuts people’s ideas that boomers raised X and Milennial. X is raising Z and Milennial is raising Alpha. It’s so much more complicated than that.

Plus boomers is a massive age range that should be divided. 39-50 and 50-68 being very different.

Feel free to lie by 1-2 years in either direction just for the extra layer of anonymity. If this is important to you.

Format should be something like

84+82=11
84+82=14
84&82=17

Meaning two 1980s babies grew up to have kids in 2011, 2014, 2017

I could also add my parents for fun.

43+45=82

I think it would be interesting to see who are the parents of milennial. Who are the kids of gen X etc. Who are the parents of Gen Z and Alpha.

My mother’s parents 88 + 06 = 27 and 29

My father’s parents 05 + 05 = 28 and 31 and 42

My parents 29+31 = 64 and 65

DH and I. 60+64= 97 and 99

People born in 1939-1945 are actually the silent generation, not boomers.

Don't disclose anything personal, anywhere. Doesn't matter if it seems vague.
