It’s unfortunate, but yeah, losing ECNL really killed McLean’s status. They are no different from Vienna and those types of clubs now. Hopefully they can right the ship, but until then, we moved our DC out of McLean. We don’t see any pathways with McLean, and FVU ain’t it.

For girls, the best FVU pathway is through Great Falls Reston because the FVU director of coaching is the head coach of GFRs top U12 girls team.

You say FVU like your DC will make that team. Thats like saying, I want to take my DC to SYC and he will play for MLSNext. Find a good coach from U-9 through U12 then go tryout for ECNL/MLSN or whatever you want. You never know if FVU may turn out with similar success like VDA. PWSI VDA and Herndon have great players that stay there and make VDA a solid program for ECNL, even though they get crushed at the younger age groups.
