i am still wary about 18y DS using it. He looks young for his age. But he is going to college in the fall so I will get over that. |
I assume the parents are drinking. I wouldn't want my child to be driven home by someone who has been out drinking. I would pick up. |
When my kids were going, we made it clear that having their own transportation was a requirement of the job. We didn’t hire sitters we had to drive. Either way is fine but this should be discussed before she accepts the job. My son started occasionally taking Uber in middle school only with our approval and if he was with a friend. They looked older and were tall. My daughter is almost 14 and I wouldn’t be comfortable with this for a very long time. Not alone or with a friend. I do it when needed but am not completely comfortable in ride shares alone as an adult and always make sure someone is tracking me. |
^lots of typos. When my kids were young and we hired sitters, we required them to have their own transportation and discussed before hiring. |
Not regularly. I was not feeling well enough to pick son (16) up from school recently and send him an Uber to pick him up. He texted me the entire way home and I tracked him on my iphone (we share locations 24/7). |
And why I hated when DD babysat — I had to stay awake and no alcohol to pick her up whenever in the wee morning hours. 18 yr old DS only takes Ubers with a friend. He can do what he wants in college in 3 short months. |
I’d be okay with this. But not after 10pm or so. |
