What would you do?

Transfer now no question.

Do more rounds of iVF. In your early 40's even a few months delay could meaningfully impact your odds of success. Once you have at least 3 good embryos move to transferring them.

100% would go for another round. they say statistically you need about 2-3 quality tested embryos per live birth... sure, some get lucky on the first try but realistically, most do not (you just don't tend to hear from them as much). if you transfer and it either doesn't stick, or even worse sticks and then you mc, then you're literally losing months before you can do another retrieval which, at 41, is crucial.

I had a coworker who had a mc, but ended up with scar tissue; she needed surgery and couldn't try again until 1.5 years later. you just never know what will happen. I know some people call out having extra embryos if you have success on the first try, but 1) tons of people in the IVF world end up with extra embryos (lucky them) and 2) i'd much rather have that problem and peace of mind vs NOT having success on the first transfer, and then stressing out about doing another round continually chasing success against the clock.

OP here. I figured I’d follow up since I’m always curious about others’ experiences. My doctor strongly recommended that we move forward with a transfer, so that is our plan! Hoping to have more good news to report next month. Thanks to everyone for weighing in, it was helpful to have other opinions in mind as we were discussing with our doctor.

Good luck, OP!
