Yes, of course. Many kids do travel sports specifically so they can have a shot at making their high school team.

Agree. My kid exclusively plays travel so that he can one day make the HS team! I don't think you can make the team if you don't play at the travel level. Only on DCUM is every kid who plays soccer gunning for a D1 slot or a chance in Europe... LOL.

You don't need to be in travel to make a HS team. The play is very low so if that's why you are doing travel, you can save a few thousand between now and HS.

The relationships my kid has developed on a high school team verses the frankly caustic relationships she has been exposed to in travel have been the single biggest surprise for us related to high school soccer. Our high school coach is a travel coach at one of the big clubs. All the players on the high school team play for various clubs. But the comradery between the high school players is far better than the travel team scene.

DS never got to play HS because of MLSN rules. Now that he's committed, he dropped to a future player status so that he can play HS with friends. He's been more passionate about HS games than he had ever been about club games. He's having fun and we're enjoying watching him.

I see Chantilly at the bottom of the list. Good job CYA and Valor! The feeders to Chantilly.

McLean HS. One kid on JV was not on travel. No varsity player was not also in a club.

Not. That poster speaks the truth. Other cultures don’t like women playing soccer. Some of just started to accept it. It’s why the US women dominated for so long. Our girls were playing travel club in the 1970s around here- many part of the first USWNT. Look at the Latino families —many only the sons play- not the daughters. Look at rosters

It’s not racist. It’s facts.

Look at college rosters too. Hell- look at the USWNT over the past two decades.
