High Voltage Power Lines

You tune out the noise of the HV power lines after a week or two. We live in Foxhall and it took me two weeks after buying our house to tune out the airplane noise.

The air quality near major highways in the suburb is better than the air quality in busy cities.
HV power lines are known to cause cancer.
So no, I’ll take a busy street or highway anytime.

That was based on one 1979 study and vast majority of research since then has shown there is no connection between cancer and HV power lines:

https://www.cancer.org/cancer/risk-prevention/radiation-exposure/extremely-low-frequency-radiation.html

You get more direct electromagnetic frequency exposure from your Wifi router than a HV power life 150'+ from your home. Unless your house is literally under the line, it's not a material risk.

Living within 1000 feet of a highway or major road doubles the risk of autism in kids

Living near highways increases incidence and severity of asthma:
https://healthpolicy.ucla.edu/publications/Documents/PDF/Living%20Near%20Heavy%20Traffic%20Increases%20Asthma%20Severity.pdf

Highways, major roads, and dense urban settings with traffic pose much higher environmental risk than HV power lines.

A family friend found that the paths beneath the high-tension power lines near her home were a good place to walk her dog. So there's that.

Sure, it affects value, but presumably you're buying a nicer house/lot/acreage at a discount as the buyer.

And won't feel the "pain" of the decreased value until its time to sell
