Bathrooms are clean but builder grade. no style in this house at all. Just because people are rich enough to afford $5M doesn't mean they would be foolish enough to spend it on this house. I'd pay $3.75 at most, and then mostly for the lot.

Just because people are rich doesn’t mean they have to or want to spend their money on cosmetic things in their home. Maybe they think “this bathroom is nice enough and functional enough, I don’t see any reason to change out the sinks or tiles when these are perfectly fine.”

Perhaps that’s how they stay rich instead of jumping on trends.

I think you also need to get into the house and see how it is. Some things are easy fixes, paint cabinets, new hardware, new backsplash. I think the primary bath is fine and like that it is a little quirky.

That being said I have looked at homes that look great online and look cheap when you go inside whereas others look okay to meh online and you go on and realize it’s good quality just may need a tweak here or there.

My neighbors redid their backsplash and made things more neutral. They had real wood to the ceiling cabinets and the backsplash was awful and it really made the kitchen so much better! They also changed the island countertop. BUT they had custom wolf/subzero/ Miele appliances including a built in espresso machine. You could also tell the cabinets were custom and good quality, just not their style. So sometimes little tweaks can make a big difference. I think $5 mil is too much imho.

Why does the stove only have 3 red knobs? Is it even a Wolf?

I went and looked. Amazed and the how low end the work was. Cabinetry in bathrooms made of MDF. Pressured wood deck rather than composite or good real wood like ipe. Garage not even touched - totally unfinished. The place was bought for $1.8m late last year. Cheap flip - no thank you.

I think you are referring to a different house? The one linked in the OP sold for $3.1 million in early 2019.
