I have a tall and skinny teen. We had good luck finding suits at Kohl's and H&M at the mall.
Look for slim fit. |
My skinny teen had luck at Jos A Bank. Price and fit were both great. |
I was able to get a surprisingly decent suit from H&M for my kid. The fabric is nice enough to get him through a few evening events this Spring and early Summer. He's growing like a weed, so I didn't want to spend much. |
Men's Warehouse is ridiculously overpriced and not suited to teens, IMHO. DS (12), where's a men's small and is 5'7", tried on 6 men's suit jackets and they all fit him awkwardly. We had great success at Nordstrom Rack and Kohls. Nordstrom does offer resizing, or you can take it to a dry cleaner that does resizing for a more custom fit. Found a tuxedo last year for my 12 yr old for $120. I was able to find a last-minute suit for DH from Kohls for $140 and he wears a size 52 suit coat. |
H&M might have something - they have workwear for women just never looked at men’s side. Their cuts are slim and flattering to young adults |
I got a Diane von Furstenburg slim suit on line at Macys. Much cheaper than what was in the store. About $125 or so. Also H&M had a reasonable suit. |
Zara men's suits have a slim fit |
Maybe Uniqlo for budget? |
Zara worked for my tall, thin teen until he was too tall and thin lol (he’s now 6’5” with a 29-inch waist at 15 and I have no idea where I’m going to buy his next suit). |
+1 for my not skinny teen. We needed one for a wedding last year and they had all sorts of sales. It was less expensive that what we priced at Macys. Check and see what specials they have. Go in person. |
