Cost for private elder companion, part time help?

These rates are very reasonable when we have teen - 15 year old twin granddaughters making $12 - $20 an hour watching children in the afternoons after high school and weekend evenings. Inflation starts young!! I pay $20 to a college student as a companion to our daughter with a disability doing activities. I do offer cover gas at times, too - and any snack or meal eaten out. **This might be a pleasant treat for a parent and caregiver at times.

as much as I am pretty trusting, totally agree here. The prospective companion may be motivated because they live a life of service and may also benefit from some extra money in their older years. Or they may be motivated because they see this as an opportunity to get their hand in the kitty, make some will changes, etc.

I am not sure where within DCUM I can post a wonderful caretaker that is currently helping my mom with my Alzheimer dad. She helps out 5 days a week in the mornings and am looking for more hours in the afternoon. Please let me know if anyone is looking for help around Fairfax City. You can reach me at 22101fam@gmail.com.
