Too early to put out annuals?

Oh good! I will look to you for all my future weather needs!

Went to a nursery today and they had some annuals for sale. Plenty of herbs, geraniums, marigolds, salvia, etc.

I planted some inpatients in a deck box yesterday. If it gets colder I will bring them in.

What temperature would you bring them inside?

DP. Wow that was so aggressive for the Lawn and Garden forum. The frost date has passed for most of the DMV as far as I know.

A frost or very close to one. The low at my MD house this week is predicted to be 37...so I am not too worried.

Gotcha. I have been bringing mine in when it's below 40 but I wonder if I could leave them out for high 30s at night.

The old adage of waiting until mother's day still proves to be true. We've had so many fools' springs this year

They're coming up now! Guess it wasn't too early.

Thanks DP, it was a little more aggressive than I was expecting in this forum 😅 I know the May 6 date and know weather can be unpredictable, but my annuals (planted in the ground) are all doing great, except for one planted in a pot that isn’t very happy right now. Otherwise the daffodils are done, and now the roses and irises are blooming and the annuals are all flowering. I’ve been so happy to see them after a difficult winter. For me, it was worth the risk of an unexpected frost!
