I knew an OOB family who would drive their kid deep into the neighborhood each and every morning (for years) so their kid could walk 6 blocks and up the hill with their friends. This is how significant the neighborhood culture is--again not because people are mean but the inboundary families (which is most of the school) simply have a huge amount of face time with each other. |
Thank you everyone for the comments. We have decided to stay at Hyde! |
And kids walk home together too. They play with each other by poking over the fence to see if their friends are home. They ride their bikes around. Kinda a flashback to an older world where parents weren't 24/7 chauffeurs. |
Janney is losing 11-12 staff members because of the budget. Just FYI, Hyde Addison is losing 0.

I don't think this is entirely true, but it seems more like a FU from the mayor to Frumin than anything else. |
Nah, Hyde is one of the mayor's and chancellor's favorite schools. Welcoming atmosphere for OOB families, very diverse, great test scores, great admin + leadership, etc. Teachers and class assistants stay at the school for a long time. The staffing losses at W3 schools are big. |
