Let them play video games and we relax. This was our last free weekend with no sports until July 4th. They have no interest in museums, maybe could convince them to go to luray, but they need to recharge too. |
Yep this is what my sons wanted to do. They actually met up with friends and played basketball and went to Starbucks and 7-11. |
We do easy stuff we can walk to in 20 minutes or less, and usually involving food at some point. Could be farmers' market, bakery, restaurant, Politics & Prose bookstore etc. Our child is into theater productions and so we pick shows to go to and then head to New York once per year as well. our vacations are +/- 7 days, with food, walking/bicycling, and one planned activity per day. The rest of the time we let her sit, draw, read, write or hang out outdoors or in the cafe where we are staying or we all go to a park and let her sit near us but not too close. |
We watch movies after dinner before they go out on weekends or sometimes on a rainy weekend afternoon. |
With dd we watch some shows, with ds we mostly talk, and we all eat together, not every day but often. We used to do a lot on weekends with little kids but between sports, school and work they are very tired or want to see friends. |
I have girls also - so shopping and we go out to eat. But the old days of “outings”? No, we don’t do that as much. |
