Great sense of community, walkable, easy commute to dc.

There are crime issues, though. It will totally depend on your comfort level.

Current owners and we like it a lot! We feel very safe within the neighborhood taking a walk at various hours. That said, there's been a variety of crime along the edges of the neighborhood over the years that we've lived here.

We DO wish there was more to walk to (we like Pennyroyal for burgers but wish for more variety within a short walk - our big wish is a walkable thai place) and depend on the car quite a bit to go up to Hyattsville/Riverdale/College Park for groceries, conveniences, and certain favored playgrounds. We go into DC for weekend family activities a lot and it's an easy drive/access. There is a great trail connection to the river/NW trail and the trolley trail isn't too far.

Neighbors are friendly and engaged, including with schools. Many send their kids to the 1 Montessori (via lottery) or private, but a fair number use the neighborhood ES.

My husband is so tired of me saying we need a thai restaurant! But, we do.
