Oh wow, I used to love my Wolfords. That being said, I agree with others. I don’t think I’ve worn stockings in 10+ years! |
Do you people not wear tights under pants in winter? I start with tights in the fall and move to Uniqlo ultra warm thermals during the coldest months and then back down. But I’m walking outside for 20-30 min each way to work. |
I can't do this because it gives me uni-butt |
NP here. Are tights / pantyhose/ stockings a thing of the past? I wear sheer tights almost every day in fall and winter. How can you wear a skirt/ dress in 30 degree weather without freezing? or do you spend your whole winter in pants? |
So true!!! I also find them uncomfortable under pants. Once inside, it's just way too warm and going to the bathroom is such a pain! |
I rarely wear skirts or dresses but I don’t think hose or even tights make any significant difference in how warm you are. If I’m going to be outside for any length of time, I’m going to dress for the weather. In pants. |
It would have to be below 25 or so for me to be uncomfortable walking that far in one layer of pants and if I need another layer I’m going to make it wool long johns or snow pants or something. I don’t see how hose or tights are going to help. |
If it’s that cold outside I wear a long coat rather than a pair of tights. Those really don’t make a difference to me in terms of warmth. I do have 2 pairs I wear rarely with a sweater dress but they are both Hue. |
I find that tights make a world of difference. I don’t like wearing a skirt without tights when it’s 50 degrees out - it’s too chilly. There are tights of varying thickness and warmth and make skirts possible in the fall and early spring for me where ai couldn’t pull it off temperature wise with bare legs. Tights/nylons get a bad rap but they’re really fine. |
I definitely do not do this and have never done this. It sounds super uncomfortable. I am 50 so it is not because I am young |
I do wear stockings in fall/winter because I think bare legs look a bit out of place and I like to wear skirts and dresses. I do like Wolford but I have actually found that Marks & Spencer is a great alternative. Comfortable, they hold up really well, and inexpensive (not counting the flight to England to buy them). I stock up when I am over there.
I don't find comfortable stockings/tight much different than yoga pants. There have actually been technological advances in tights - they are much stretchier and softer than in the past. |
I only splurged for Wolford once and they got a run the first wear.
I do okay with whatever's at Nordstrom rack. Dkny ones have lasted a long time. I don't wear tights under pants since it wears them down. When it's really cold I wear silk or Merino wool long johns. |
I usually wear very thin leggings from Uniqlo under my pants, like their heat tech thin layer, when it's cool but not freezing out. Then build up to fleece lined. I'm outside a lot too on my commute and on weekends. But the foot part and the waist part of tights is too uncomfortable for me to deal with every day. |
I have so many Wolford as well!! They are really gorgeous. And I haven’t worn tights in years but that’s bc I’ve gotten lazy. And home office. I’m inspired to the office just to wear some now! |
No, because I have hot flashes and barely need a coat, much less tights or thermals. |
