FYI. At St James right now and there are a lot of tournaments this weekend. Sunday is going to be a mess. |
Holy cow this meet is not going well. Tons of little kids trying to swim events they aren’t ready for (who signs a newbie up for a 100??), timing system keeps breaking, UGH. Really hope things are smoother tomorrow. |
Too many kids in the meet and too many people signing up littles for events they should not swim.
My bingo card has session canceled for vomit in the pool. |
All the 8&u kids were in this session. |
Tomorrow will have a ton of novice kids in the 12&u sessions too. Pack your patience. It is what is it — a meet for everyone. |
There were 4 and 5 year olds signed up tonight! Who DQed, might I add. This is not a mini meet… ugh. |
A 4 year-old girl also broke 2 minutes in the 50 free. Good for her. |
I mean tonight’s session was essentially a mini meet. There is no chance I would have signed up/allowed my kid’s coach to sign them up for the 9-12 200s in the middle of the 8 and unders. |
Some kids were there to make cuts. What can you do except tough it out in the bleachers. |
There are other meets in January and February to try and hit JO cuts. There also was only 1 kid that made a JO cut in those 9-12 200s. |
It is a mini meet if the event organizers say it is. And offering 8& under 25s sends a really clear signal: this session is a mini meet. |
+1, it’s clear from the meet announcement with the lineup of events that today was essentially a mini meet. |
Exactly. These parents with kids “close”to making JO cuts think every meet should cater to their DC. Don’t like the format, skip it and try again next month. |
Is the meet still going on? It was awful. Not sure why we bothered going for a 200. |
Poor predictive skills? |
