Thanksgiving hosting. What are you doing for the OTHER meals?

Takeout, everyone picks their own thing.

BRUNCH. Instead of planning separate breakfasts and lunches for all these picky fools, roll a bunch of options for both into one meal, so it doesn’t all have to “go” together. A precooked ham that can be reheated, with mustard or orange glaze sauces served on the side so the sweet/savory/skip people can do as they please. Sauté a big bag of green beans in some melted butter for 5 minutes to serve on the side. Baguette French toast casseroles can be assembled in advance and popped in the oven. Fruit plate, crudite plate. Granola, individual yogurts. Oven scrambled eggs.

OR

Just make what you feel good making, send an email saying “we’ll have eggs and bacon and bagels on Friday morning, and pizza on Saturday night. Please feel free to bring anything else you’d like to eat!” (Have coolers w ice handy if you’re worried about fridge space) When we have big groups of friends come stay with us, the wine snobs bring bottles to share, the vegetarians bring their own veggie burgers, the pregnant family brings extra lacroix, etc etc because duh.

Breakfast and lunch are self-serve. Have cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, eggs on hand for breakfast and deli meat and cheese plus fixings for DIY sandwiches for lunch. For dinner do a pizza night, leftover night, taco night.
