Apple "Find my" vs Life 360

Life 360 has a “crash detected” feature that alerted my sister that my teenage nephew had been involved in a wreck.

This is what I do. I have Find my iPhone, as well do, lol, but I rarely use it. My kid is out right now. I texted her to find out her location. I didn’t go into an app and see.

I have life 360 ( free version) for my 11yo and if she’s in a car it tells me how fast she is going. If she’s on foot it says if she moving or not.

It works about 90% of the time, somtimes it will think they are "walking" when they are going 35mph. Only reason I know is because I check line by line when I was using it for Door Dash to save the miles come tax time.

Just remember if you can see it, someone else can see it too. A hacker or just more data collected on you.

I use it to check if my kid is home from school because he forgets to text

Find my iPhone for when they lose their phone.

Life 360 (Free) now that he is driving

Find my. Life 360 uses way too much battery, and they are more likely to use life 360 with their group of friends.

I only have the Find My but think I will pay up when my oldest goes to college next year.
