+1. The Uber driver might not care about the issue, but they care about being pulled over and ticketed.

Unlikely. Have you seriously never done this?

I need to make a quick Uber trip with my three year old to pick up our car at the shop.

The max speed will be 30 miles per hour. It’s like two miles.

I’m pretty comfortable with the risk without a car seat but will Uber allow that? Or do I really need to lug and install our car seat?

2 miles? Why not just walk?

Get your kid a boostapack. This will also make it much easier when you want to put them in a car with a friends parent or you want to take another kid in yours.

I have been told no by an Uber. I have never ridden in an Uber without a car sear in a city in which it was illegal. I have internationally in cities where it is legal.

We use a booster seat for my DS who's almost 5 in short uber rides. it's small enough that we can just bring it into the restaurant or wherever we're going.

I believe you can order an Uber that has a car seat installed. Scroll way to the bottom when ordering. Not sure if they’re rear facing or forward facing.

Wayb Pico is one of the best gear items I have purchased. We use it when we fly, taxi, Uber, etc

We tried that, had to wait an extra 20 minutes, the car showed up with no car seat, and the driver didn’t know what we were talking about. Would not recommend.

They have Ubers with car seats now. Just request one of those. This thread is so much ado about nothing.

Was your kid able to nap on the plane/car in it? I’m thinking about getting one for my 3 year old for a trip to Europe. Just concerned that the lack of recline will mean she’ll be unable to sleep.

4 people died in a car accident in Bowie last night. I don’t know the circumstances but I do know they didn’t plan on getting in a car and dying. Probably just a “ 5 min ride” “ not going on a highway it’ll be fine” etc….: accidents happen. Be as safe as you can every single time because you never know.

I've never been able to get one. They're always unavailable when I've tried. Have you had luck with it?
