Yes, my son has very flat feet and his doctor said these are the only brand to go with. |

Another vote for Archies! I love mine - 4 years old and still going strong! |

+2 Love these. I have high arches and have had foot surgery, if that helps. |
I'll be the Debbie Downer here - flip flops are terrible for you. My PT admits she wears them too, but they are really bad for your feet. |
All flip flops? Even, say, Birkenstocks? |
Ha, that’s funny! Vionic have been good as well. I wear a lot of running shoes which can also be problematic (so far, Reebok have been the best). In the winter, I use orthotic inserts. This year, I decided to look for a pair of heels with arch support and will be trying on a pair of E’MAR shoes. Will report back. Sarah Flint also allegedly makes good ones. I’ve tried oofos and they made my plantar fasciitis much worse. Many other brands do too (keens, chacos, clarks, etc.). What about you? |
Go to a VA Runner type store where you can try some on. Oofos were amazing for me, but everyone is different. |
My doctor said to have flip flops with good support by my bed so my arch doesn't get pulled when I wake up. Walking miles in flip flops bad, using them for short periods of time or when you are not walking a lot is fine, if it has good support. Birkenstocks DO NOT HAVE GOOD SUPPORT. |
They are sandals and as sandals go, they do have excellent support, as judged by my VERY problematic feet. Perhaps they don’t fit everyone correctly. |
Vionic Tide II flip flops.
https://www.vionicshoes.com/tide-ii-toe-post-sandal.html By wearing these Vionic flip flops and Hoka Bondi sneakers I’ve been able to overcome my debilitating heel pain. |
And some, including some podiatrists would vehemently disagree with you. Perhaps the key is to chose shoes that support your particular feet well. For some of us, such shoes will include at least some Birkenstocks. The flip flops noted in this thread are not the flip flops your PT is referencing. They are the exact opposite. Weird comment from the PT. Common complaints https://www.idiva.com/health-wellness/diet-detox/why-flip-flops-are-bad-for-your-feet/16052345 |
