So GE monogram is Chinese?

We have been happy with our Bosch fridge. In the marker for a 36” range right now and will likely go with Miele.

GE refrigerators share components with Samsung. Samsung appliances are so bad that most appliance repair people won't bother to come fix them.

“Your last kitchen remodel”- sheesh lady, stop being so wasteful.

With respect, the whole point of “high end” kitchen appliances is “shady stuff with pricing.” So just pay the money and get what you want.

Op here. We are actually pretty good (and frequent) cooks. What I mostly care about, though, is something that looks good/interesting and won’t break down. I don’t care if the oven costs 5k or 15k.

Uh huh.

You definitely want the Miele dishwasher. I’ve had several brands, including Bosch, and will never buy a non-Miele again.

Do NOT buy Bosch or Viking for your oven or refrigerator.

All I care about in the dishwasher is the noise and the fastest cycle, so Bosch it is. The buttons drive me crazy but I adore the 30 minute cycle.

Run, do not walk away from GE Appliances. We purchased a high-end GE Monogram Built-In Refrigerator in March. The water and ice dispenser stopped working on the same day that it was installed. Two months and four service calls later not only does my water and ice dispenser not work but now none of the control panels on the refrigerator work. GE has so far refused to replace the refrigerator, claiming that it is still fixable. The GE service technician will be at my house tomorrow to attempt to fix the refrigerator for the fifth time. I no longer have any faith in GE or Haier, their parent company.

We are doing a remodel and putting in wolf/subzero/cove and there was no wait. Like 3-4 months at most. This will be our 4th round of subzero fridge/wolf range(we sold the other homes.) The subzero fridge we are replacing is 18 years old (we owned it from years 9-18) and never had to get it repaired. We have had terrible Bosch and Miele dishwashers in the past, so I guess we were unlucky.

I have a Miele and a Bosch and the Bosch is MUCH better. The problem with the Miele is the layout and organization inside makes no sense - so pay attention to that OP. I can get so much more in my Bosch. And the Miele doesn't dry well at all - even with the Jet Dry added I'm constantly drying things as I unload it. They both wash equally well though.

And I know there is a lot of Sub-Zero hate here - but I've had them in almost every house I've lived in since the 1980s and have NEVER had any problems with them. The produce really does last longer in them. I currently have Sub-Zero fridge, freezer drawers, full-size and small wine fridges and a beverage fridge - all in perfect order for years.

I DON'T recommend a GE Monogram high-end fridge. I had one of those and it was chronically ill!

Good luck with the reno OP.

See, I have a Bosch dishwasher and the thing I hate most about it is that I feel like the layout makes no sense and I can’t fit enough in it.

I think you have to just make a choice and not worry about. There are horror stories and happy customers for every brand. I would try to avoid anything a super unusual size or very hard to replace, and I would make sure to have wiring for induction even if you don’t get it.

Do NOT get a Monogram.
We purchased probably around the time switched ownership and purchased based on historical reviews.
We have had 6 burner / gas over for 5 years.
Oven thermostat has had to be replaced 3 times. The repair person laughs and tells me it is a part that you need to change like a wear and tear part on your car.
The range we have had a repair person in the house ~ 6 times and as I am typing this, I am home waiting for the repair person for the range.
We use it at typically twice a day - my husband has eggs every morning and it is not uncommon to heat something on the stove top in the evening.
We are 2 years out from having the house paid off and at that time will replace it - but we expected that it would not have had to be replaced that quickly.
