I started The Pact which is about a Michigan man who went missing in 2014. It’s pretty good so far. I believe all episodes are out so it’s binge able but I’ve only listened to the first episode so far

Thanks, everyone! I tried Father Wants Us Dead but found the editing poor — the first 15 minutes of Episode 1 repeated the same 2 points three times. Interesting case though!

I am loving “The Turning” about the nuns who left Mother Teresa’s order. I listened with an uncomfortable and at times horrified facial expression. It’s fascinating in its own right, and also has me unraveling some of the beliefs I had growing up in the 80s/90s as a Catholic, and the zeitgeist worshipful impression of Mother Theresa. I had been looking for a podcast that would help me think critically about my Catholic upbringing (I’m no longer Catholic, my mom left the church due to its treatment of women), and I found that here.

Excited to check out the other suggestions, thanks again!

Over my dead body

Not OP but this looked interesting. Anywhere to find it besides YouTube?

I'm sorry, I listened to it on Apple podcasts, but it isn't available anymore.

I found it on Amazon prime music

While the story is fascinating, I found the host of Murdaugh Murders to be so annoying to listen too. In particular, the way she talked herself up and put other journalists down. Constantly. It was tiresome.

I like the podcasts that are like serial shows.

Aftershock. Currently in season 2.

The Mantawauk Caves.

Bridgewater (though this one got kinda stupid).

The most recent season of Slow Burn on Clarence Thomas was pretty great. Also you. might check out Running from COPS (Dan Taberski). BTW OP I love the ones you said you loved.

Anonymous wrote:The Turning - Season 1 is about former nuns in Mother Teresa’s order, Season 2 is about George Balanchine and elite ballet. I ran through both seasons in a weekend.

Heavy on seeing inside worlds that are walled off to outsiders and the difference between a serene surface image and the pain and turmoil behind it. Both seasons also look into the cult-like aspects of the organizations.

The first season was SO GOOD! Haven’t listened to the second one yet.

Ones I’ve loved and always recommend:

Criminal
Spooked by Glynn Washington
Heavens Gate by Glynn Washington
Dr. Death
Over My Dead Body
Dirty John
Teacher’s Pet
Very Scary People
The Gateway

YES and same goes for 60 Songs That Explain the 90s. Both are so good.

The Line by Dan Taberski was also great.

Also Will Be Wild about January 6 is probably the best podcast I’ve ever listened to.
