TOM IS SATAN |
But he's hilarious. "Five (millions)'s a nightmare. Can’t retire. Not worth it to work. Five will drive you un poco loco, my fine feathered friend. Poorest rich person in America. The world’s tallest dwarf. The weakest strong man at the circus." |
Hehe, I think of that quote often. It made me spit out my drink when I first heard it. At the end of season 4, My bet is on Logan just continuing on, as he has always has been. Or maybe Greg gets it all somehow. |
Who WRITES this stuff? So funny. I love a weekly rollout ... gives me more to look forward to! |
They are all terrible. I actually kind of like that Tom was willing to knife Shiv in the back as a master power play and that she never saw it coming. I am super excited to see Alexander Skaarsgard (or however it's spelled) back. |
| Show got repetitive and boring. I wouldn't expect anything too dramatic at the end if they want to keep options open for a movie, right? And if it's really based on Murdoch, the old man lives forever. Are y'all really going to be satisfied if the old man croaks and kooky Tom or Greg inherits the throne? Seems like a cheap ending, to me. |
| Can't make a Tomlette without breaking a few Greg's. |
My guess is Logan dies and the family loses control of the company because they are too dysfunctional. Which is what ends up eventually happening in many of these family-run companies where there's an overbearing patriarch who can't let go. It's very rare for family-run businesses to successfully thrive through the generations. You only hear about the successful ones, not all the losers who live up to "shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations." |
I agree, I assume none of them will get the business. |

“It’s like if Santa Claus was a hit man”
Love that from the trailer can’t wait! |
The patriarch dying is what everyone is predicting, so that's pretty lazy. And losing the company... so the spoiled brats are all filthy rich on the season finale? Zzzzz ending. |
| I am so sad this is the last season. Ending on a high note I guess - but this is by far the best show I’ve ever seen. Spectacular. |
How is it "lazy"? This is what happens with companies without a clear succession plan. If they are public, they get picked apart by bigger sharks. Or if control is too diluted, then they become zombies and eventually sell down the road as a former shell of itself (see: Bancroft family that sold Dow Jones/WSJ to Murdoch). The moral of the show is that capital and ruthlessness always win, but usually at great personal cost. Logan's family is too f#cked up to credibly fend off outsiders. If there's any justice in the world, Rupert Murdoch will kick the bucket before the series finale. |
