Or the news teams, police scanner, etc. Everyone involved referred to it as a shooting in the woods by Microstrategy/Bloomingdales. |
I live near Tysons. The cop made the right decision. |
Your biggest concern is over the use of the word woods? |
Well that makes you the expert then. I live nearby and I’ll wait to hear facts. |
Last week there was the bus driver stabbing and the suspect tried to enter the Freddie Mac building after https://www.ffxnow.com/2023/02/13/police-man-...ector-bus-in-tysons/ |
From WUSA 9: "Police Chief Kevin Davis said two officers shot the man outside the mall following a foot chase." |
From FairfaxNow: (Updated at 9:50 p.m.) A man has died after being shot by police outside of Tysons Corner Center mall. Frantic police radio transmissions went out around 6:30 p.m., for mall-based Tysons Urban Team officers following a suspect in the parking lot outside of Bloomingdale’s. The suspect then reportedly entered the woods along Fashion Blvd, after which officers radioed that gunshots had been fired. |
It's confirmed: "The man was brought to the Fairfax County Police Department’s attention by a loss prevention officer who reported that there was a theft in progress earlier this evening, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said in a 9 p.m. media briefing. When the loss prevention officer led police to the person believed to be a suspect, the man fled, and two FCPD officers — one in uniform and one in plainclothes — chased him out of the mall. “Probably a quarter of a mile or so later, the suspect approached a small wooded area, a small patch of trees and brush,” Davis said. “The suspect ran into that area. Our officers continued to chase him into that area, and at some point in time, our police officers…discharged their firearms.” |
I hope we'll get to know more about what happened. Did they have to shoot to kill? What did the man do? |
Ok so just theft? They absolutely had to hunt him down and kill him? |
Body cam footage will tell the story. They have not said whether or not the person was armed or pulled a gun first. |
Why deadly force chasing a shoplifter? |
Well it was notably absent in all the early reports. Besides, they need time to plant that evidence. |
Well it better tell a convincing story because it doesn't look good right now. |
Why do you think? |
