| It’s slightly less offensive than filling landfills with perfectly good clothes. |
I think there is a difference between throwing on an old t-shirt to jog — no big deal. Deliberately wearing it as a subtle way of saying you wish it was still the name is obnoxious and offensive because no one likes belligerent people like that. |
| Keep them in a lead-lined box until Dan Snyder is really gone and the curse is lifted. |
If worn by an AA person, it is not racist. But it could still be prejudice. |
| White woman married to Native American (and former fan). It's not ok. Sorry you spent all that money - but since you are asking, it is 100% NOT ok to wear a big racist logo and name on your shirt and be proud of it. |
Nope, wearing a racist shirt is racist no matter if you are jogging or supporting the team. If you plan to just go about your life wearing it - at least own the fact that you are part of the problem. |

My husband is a lifelong fan and his favorite old sweatshirt has the word on it (no logo). He doesn't wear it out. He won't buy anything because he can't stand Dan Snyder.
IF Snyder sells, we are totally buying some new gear. |

We are getting rid of all our Redskins stuff. I bought my die-hard fan DH a new Commanders shirt (though I HATE giving money to Dan Snyder, this felt important) and as I come across things I am throwing them away.
Ex: we have several Redskins Xmas ornaments that I tossed as I unpacked them. Of course I am pretty disgusted with the leadership of the team, so that helps. If Snyder sells, I would buy more merch. But for now, the one t-shirt is it. We have a cute family picture of all of us in Redskins gear when my kids were babies/toddlers and now I'm embarrassed by it. Sigh. |

DH is a huge Redskins fans and has loads of branded gear. What he’s decided is to keep wearing the t-shirts and hoodies when working out, doing yard work, or hanging at the house. If he runs an errand with a shirt on, not a big deal. But he’s more careful where he’s wearing it.
He did remove memorabilia from his office though, which I think was a good call. |
| You managed to squeeze that name in 4 times! So proud of you /s/ |
I just don't understand this narrative that AA people can't be racist. The logo (and its offensive nature) had nothing to do with AA people. |
Deny it all you want. It doesn't make it true. It's a slur, and you should be ashamed of yourself. |
This is just 100% false. My Native American family cares very much. |
See, that's where we differ. They are not perfectly good clothes. They are racist offensive clothes. I'm sure you don't want to get rid of your Klan outfit either because they are nice sheets, but sometimes it's better to just get rid of something. |
| Yet Notre Dame has a racist offensive picture to Irish people. But that is ok |
