Baby Play Mats

OP here - thanks for the recs all! The main reason I thought one of the foam play mats might be nice is because we’ve been having issues with blankets and the Lovevery mat slipping on hardwood floors as DD is becoming more mobile and trying to do more. She’ll reach out to try to pull herself forward in an army crawl and the Lovevery mat bunches up under her. It’s not an issue when we place the mat on top of a rug, but we’d like her to have floor time in different parts of our home, and we don’t have rugs down everywhere. It seems like a foam mat would help with this issue, but let me know if I’m off base. I totally get that she’ll be all over the place once she starts crawling and walking though!

Said baby will crawl and walk and stumble on everything and anything, no matter the floor type, and you cannot contain them. You’re welcome!
. I agree with this poster.

Don’t overthink this. If you want a foam mat then get one.

I had a set of inexpensive interlocking foam mats-from walmart-in my hardwood-floor living room.

They were great. Easy to put together/take apart, easy to store and clean. They still looked new after I gave them to baby cousin after dc was older.
