210 MCPS schools. Point is why post? Hoping someone recognizes who this is and then goes after them? |
I don't think so. This didn't https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1079235.page#23300678 |
Someone really wants DCUM to look at the court’s interactions with every principal in MCPS. Then, there will be a bunch of nasty posts about people’s divorces, bankruptcies, and lawsuits. |
I’m the OP and I only brought up DWIs. I’ve worked in other districts were teachers are suspended and admin fired over DWIs. How is it different than firing football coaches over a brawl? |
| Maybe if the principal wasn’t delusional and narcissistic people wouldn’t go digging in the first place. Oh wait, maybe he made his mess public to the faculty? |
Wait, is this what the principal did? I missed where this was even about a man. |
A principal drinking on the job will get disciplined. (Just ask Casey Anderson how drinking on MoCo property works out!) |
| I'm an admin and there's a running joke among school-based admin that you have to commit a crime to get promoted in MCPS. It's disgraceful. |
| Hmmm. I often wondered this as I see some of these MCPS personnel and wonder how in the world they got hired at all. Like, what were the requirements: have a pulse? And I am not talking about the teachers. The janitors, the lunch ladies, the secretaries, and some of the admin come to mind immediately. |
Clearly nobody else would do the job. Our school has such a hard time finding custodial staff that all of their current custodial staff have to work overtime. But in true MCPS fashion they are limited to 4 hours of overtime a day. So, they are asked to use 4 hours to complete the tasks someone would actually need 8 hours to do. |
| You also have to especially check if they transfer a new principal or AP to a Title I or Focus school. They assume the parents in those schools aren't as plugged in or don't have time to be involved so they attempt to stick the bad ones there. They tried to put an AP at Lee Middle School (now Shannon) who had a second DUI and violated her probation for the first one and was going to be serving weekend jail while starting there. But they find jobs in central office for anytime a fuss is made. The former Damascus HS principal who didn't report the rapes as per policy gets her full salary to make appointments for interviews. |

Any DUI let alone repeat offenders demonstrates a blatant lack of judgment and willingness to obey the law. All crimes should be required to be reported.

What about an affair with a staff member? Is that a crime? I’ve seen Virginia principals get removed for that but not in MCPS |
No, it's not a crime. It can still be wrong and grounds for dismissal. |
They are both still at the school. The principal at least filed for divorce. |
